Venetian Boat Song Audio
This transcription comes from Mendelssohn’s eight volume collection of “Songs Without Words.” These “songs” are short character pieces written for solo piano. This song is written in the traditional 6/8 meter of the barcarolle. The intended effect is that of a boat listing back and forth on the calm waters of the Venice canals.
The attached performance video was recorded by the Glendale Community College Guitar Orchestra under the direction of Chuck Hulihan.
