Op. 35 No. 3 Audio

This piece, written by Fernando Sor originally as a solo etude, is intended for either level 2 or three. Parts one and two can be played fixed-finger or alternating. The primary part three is a Level 4 part, however, it can be substituted for part five. Op. 35 No. 3 is a great study on accent and resolution with clear 8-bar phrases to structure rehearsal. Listen to individuals play the stressed and resolved beats listening for extreme contrast. There is opportunity for freedom in phrasing by the conductor. Make some decisions about rallentando and ritardando to communicate to the students.
