Bach Minuet BWV 114

This familiar Minuet by J.S. Bach or Christian Petzold is a Level 4 or 5 piece in F Major. The melodic figures are passed around so each part is equally challenging. Every student will need to have a very good grasp of all notes in first position. Also, confidence in moving from thumb strokes to alternation is a must. Begin by teaching the familiar melody to all parts. The F# will be played with the thumb. Pay close attention to good thumb strokes and good alternation. There are many effective ways to phrase and articulate this piece. Get input from your students regarding the decisions you all make.
