In its simplest form, this piece requires level 4 players (on parts 1a, 2a and 3). You may add more advanced players by using parts 2a and 2b. Part 1a requires a few quick trill-like figures. Level 4 players are not usually required to have this skill, so the instructor should take extra time to teach these passages by rote. If the players are not ready to play these passages, the instructor may choose to omit the slurs and ask the student to articulate each note. Be sure to point out the few sections that require sudden dynamic contrasts. It may be helpful to practice these sections as a short exercise before playing the entire piece.
