This arrangement is set up to use parts 1 and 2 in combination with part 3a, or parts 3b and part 3c. Parts one and two present some technical challenges that require the students to pay close attention to fingering. Many of the passages include extensive fingering. The student may choose to use the suggested fingerings, or they may add or delete slurs to make the scale passages more fluid. The students should be required to have a written fingering plan for these measures.
