Irish Dance is a quick, Irish folk tune in compound time that will work best as all level 2 or as a level 3 piece if everyone learns the melody. There alternate options for classes with multiple levels represented. Begin this piece by teaching the melodic part from parts 1a and 1b depending on levels. Be sure to accent the two beats that we feel in 6/8 time. A heavy accent will give this piece its Irish sound. Irish dance should be easily approachable and fun to learn for the class. As always, emphasize good tone that comes from a good, big knuckle stroke.
