Romantic
Composer:
Gounod, Charles
This piece is most easily recognizable as the theme to the classic mid-century television program “Alfred Hitchcock Presents...” The piece was originally written as a movement of Gounod’s Suite Burlesque. This arrangement makes use of elements of the original orchestral score as well as the composer’s own piano reduction. Parts 2 & 3 are set at level 5 and part 1 is level 9. The overall technical demands are slight, but the musical elements should provide a challenge to all players. You may choose to shorten the piece by excluding the short introduction (ms. 1-15) and by eliminating any or all of the repeats.
