“Synergy” is a Level 2 piece similar in technical demand to “Lost Maples”. Much of the time students are asked to move m-i-m-i in a fixed finger position. Due to the length of the piece, do not teach every part to each student. Part 3 of “Synergy” is actually the most demanding part. The student on this part will have the most changes in right hand fingering. A good command of the one-octave G Major scale is absolutely necessary to execute “Synergy”. They will need to be able to play this scale quickly while accenting different notes. Prepare for this piece by playing m-i-m-i on open E and B strings to establish good tone and legato style.
