Arpeggios - PIM

This video demonstrates how to teach PIM arpeggios to your class. PIM arpeggios are the first type of arpeggio that students will play because of the simple transition from I-M alternation. This is also the point that the technique known as extension timing is introduced. More information on extension timing with close-up of the right hand performing PIM arpeggios can be found in additional videos. Note that the teacher is modeling and giving students verbal cues step-by-step while executing the arpeggio properly.

Student Will:

Place right hand P on string 4

Place right hand I finger on string 2

Place right hand M finger on string 1

Play P on open string 4

Play I finger on open string 3

Play M finger while immediately placing P on string 4

Play P on open string 4 while immediately planting I finger on string 2 and M finger on string 3
