I (Index) Stroke

In this video, the teacher demonstrates how to execute a good I stroke with index finger on the open second string B. To produce high-quality, robust tone, the index finger moves from the big knuckle joint and travels inside the hand past the thumb. The teacher demonstrated to the class how the finger goes straight back and inside the hand, not up and out. The teacher then has the entire class execute proper I strokes and has the class immediately relax the finger placing it back on the string.

Once the students are comfortable with both the and I strokenext to learn.
