January Embers
Level
3

January Embers is a very important piece in your journey with the guitar because it is the first piece in which you will transition from “fixed finger” strokes to “alternation”. This technique is described in the level 3 intro, and your teacher will help you as you are developing comfort with it.

Alternation is the technique that all classical guitarists use to play consecutive notes on the top three strings. They use this technique because it allows them to play faster and more fluently than it would if they used the “fixed finger” technique.

This transition can be tricky, so just remember to be patient and ask your teacher lots of questions!
