Hush You Bye

Hush You Bye is a solemn, flowing piece that was arranged and inspired by an early American lullaby. The song, also known as “All the Pretty Little Horses”, was originally a Southern Appalachian melody and one of the few examples we have of early American lullaby in a minor key.
This piece is intended to be both soothing and soft at times, as well as powerful and intense. We might imagine a new mother protecting her baby during a time of extreme uncertainty in the early American south. Articulation and dynamics are very important to convey the emotion of the music.
