As the director of one of the largest and most successful pre-college programs in the US, Joseph Ikner has experience with a huge variety students. “Danza España” is a product of these experiences. In this work, Ikner combines material that is stimulating and addresses technical and musical concepts appropriate to intermediate students.

Guitar one provides an opportunity for transitioning from level 2 to level 3. Guitar two features string-crossing and a few notes on string 4. Guitar three requires the player to read all 6 strings. As always, tone, dynamics, and excellent ensemble playing are vital in performing this music.
