Arpeggios - PIMIPI

This video demonstrates how to teach your class how to play a PIMIPI arpeggio found in Guitar part 2A of Valse No. 1. This arpeggio is a complex arpeggio, meaning it is not strictly ascending or descending. This requires students to focus on ascending and descending extensions timing while performing this arpeggio. The teacher in this video has students perform the arpeggio step by step on open strings while giving verbal cues for performing and planting fingers. Inform students that this arpeggio starts out similar to PIM Arpeggio but has a few additional steps.

Students will:
1. Place right hand P on string 5
2. Place right hand I finger on string 4
3. Place right hand M finger on string 3
4. Play P on open string 5
5. Play I finger on open string 4
6. Play M finger on string 3 IMMDIATLEY placing I finger on string 4
7. Play I finger on open string 4 while IMMDIATLEY planting P on string 5
8. Play P finger on open string 5 while IMMDIATLEY planting I on string 4
9. Play I finger on open string 4 while IMMDIATLEY planting P on string 5
10. Play P finger on open string 5 while IMMDIATLEY planting I on string 4 AND M on string 3
11. Repeats sequence with left hand chord
